Zion Lutheran Church in Tomball, Texas invited Dr. Rod Rosenbladt and Craig Parton to speak at the 2009 Apologetics Symposium. Their assignment was straightforward: define the apologetic task and give the bedrock foundation for an easily understood defense of the Christian faith.

With the exception of Dr. John Warwick Montgomery, there are no more eminently qualified and experienced men to address this topic than these two men, and they both hit grand slam home runs with these lectures.

Several of the attendees at the Symposium told us that these were the best lectures on the subject that they had ever heard. One gentleman told us he had been studying apologetics for twenty years and these (and one by Mr. Parton, in particular) were the clearest, most powerful lectures on the subject that he had ever heard.

Back in 2000, there was an ad in the Orange County Register (California) for a Concert entitled "Mass for 1000 AD." On a whim our partner Patrick Kyle decided to attend. The concert was held in a Greek Orthodox Church in Orange County at the unveiling of the church's new mosaic. Pat had never heard of the group Anonymous 4, but being a fan of various forms of chant, he figured he had nothing to lose.

He was utterly unprepared for the beauty he encountered. Their tone was so clear and pure that the very air seemed clearer and brighter. The audience literally held their breath while the group sang, and were completely still for fear of producing the quietest rustle that could interfere with the music. When the group finished each song you could hear the audience exhale. People wept openly. For a moment it seemed that Heaven had bent down and touched the Earth. It was simply stunning.

While the debate rages in some quarters as to whether the United States is/was a Christian nation, it is beyond question that the Christian faith played a huge role in forming the ethos and culture of our country.

American Angels is a collection of a capella hymns and sacred music from various times in our history. Many of the songs you will recognize as old favorites, others you will hear for the first time.

Anonymous 4 and the Chilingirian String Quartet perform songs arranged or composed by Sir John Tavener. In this CD the themes of Light and Darkness are explored musically.

Included are some ancient chants and some of Tavener's original compositions. His masterpiece 'The Bridegroom' is based on the parable of the Ten Virgins. This is truly an amazing piece of music and a great example of what contemporary sacred music can be.

In the first section of this presentation you may learn more about what hymns are, where they came from, and how hymnals were developed, than in all your years prior. It also puts to rest some popular myths about Luther's development of church music.

The DVD is divided into four twenty minute segments, each covering a period of history in the development of hymnody, focusing on important hymn composers as well as music from that period.
