Interview Follow-Up

Thursday, September 20th, 2007

Well, Tuesday’s interview with Issues, Etc. seemed to go well. I had a good opportunity to talk about grace from many different angles, and that’s always a good thing. I love the chance to help get the sound of grace in people’s ears.

If you caught the interview, I hope you enjoyed it. If you found us because of the interview, thank you for stopping by! Please tell your friends and family about us and mention us on the blogosphere. We’re working like crazy to get the word out right now.

If you missed the interview, use this link to get the MP3 directly from Issues, Etc. The file is a full hour of the program, and my interview starts at 28:00 minutes.

Please stop by and let us know what you think.

The interview on Issue’s was great! What a blessing it is to have parents who are in Christ and share his grace with you. Your interview reminded me of the many times I’ve observed my husband share this blessing with our sons and the times I’ve failed to do so. Thank God for the forgiveness we have in the death and resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Hope to hear you on Issue’s again and will recommend this website to my buddies, especially those at the church library!

    Karen,

Thank you for such supportive comments. I think one of the reasons that exhibiting such grace with one’s children stands out so much is because it is SO difficult to do in our fallen nature. Truly, just as Todd was saying in the interview, whenever things are a bit scary, how quickly we run to the law. I struggle with it daily. If we were to think about it for a moment, I think it would shake us up to look at the ease and comfort that we have in applying the law on a day-to-day basis when we could instead offer grace.

It’s tough! As a parent myself, I can relate to all the other Christian parents out there who have their children testing boundaries to see what they can get away with every day (primarily when they’re younger).

I will never be able to thank my father enough for never failing to be graceful and provide us a home that was so free and forgiving that it felt like all things were possible. The happiness in my house as I grew up was simply staggering. As tough as it is, I hope many more people get to experience that in their homes by fighting to react gracefully to tough situations.

I’m sure we’ll have a chance to be on Issues, Etc. again. In fact, I’m probably going to try to find out if we can have one of our partners, Pat Kyle, on the show for an interview so he can describe his journey to Lutheranism. It is another wonderful tale that people need to hear.

    In Christ,
    Ted R
