When A Good Father Dies, It’s Always Too Early
Tuesday, January 20th, 2009We are proud to finally be able to bring this lecture from Dr. Rod Rosenbladt to our catalog. The Gospel as it relates to the fatherhood of God, and its bearing on fatherhood in daily life is a subject that is rarely touched upon, but one we feel is of utmost importance. Dr. Rosenbladt, in his inimitable style, mines this rich subject and lays it out in such a way as to be both edifying and instructive in our vocations as Christians and as fathers.
The concept of a ‘Gospel Father’ was new to me until my acquaintance with Dr. Rosenbladt. Yet at the same time, even though I was not raised in a Christian home, my father and my grandfather were at their core gracious men, and so I recognized many of the things he speaks of, having experienced them in my family.
This is really an important subject. How much different would our churches and society be if there was a conscious effort on the part of even a minority of Christians, and especially fathers, to view
God and their vocation as fathers (or mothers) through the lens of Gospel-centered fatherhood? This reaches deeply into all areas of life and ministry.
These lectures total over four and one-half hours of listening time. We edited them and cleaned up the audio, and reformatted them into MP3s that will play on your computer, ipod, or any MP3 player. We think these lectures are very important – you don’t want to miss them. Even if you’re not a father or a mother, but simply someone’s son or daughter, you’re going to love these… trust us.
