Hi Dawn, I, too, came from an evangelical background. I sense God’s call in my life and have gone onto seminary, and just started my journey as a Lutheran pastor about 1 1/2 years ago. I’ve been greatly encouraged by your story.

Thanks for sharing your story, Dawn. I’m a “lifer” Lutheran but spent several years at a missionary boarding school that was very much like your experience of evangelicalism.

Some of my classmates from there are now completely outside the church. I almost can’t blame them for walking away. If I hadn’t been so stubbornly Lutheran myself during my years there, I would have walked away, too.

I pray they find a Reformation church, like you have.

Great “testimony.” I love that story, and would like to see more of them happen.

Thanks for sharing your journey. I have been without a church “home” for many years. I am drawn to a message of grace and have been so confused as to where the real meal deal could be found. The Lord in His kindness to me unraveled so many erroneous teachings and the more I hear about the Gospel “outside” of me and listen to Dr Rod…what a blessing he is….I will continue the hunt. I am lonely without a church to hang with. Thanx, Dawn and again to NPR. More of that sweet 100 proof grace!
