NRP is making available all kinds of (FREE) resources to help make sure you’re hearing or reading the Gospel in all its potency. Not only are we culling the internet to get our hands on various sources which offer great works that we highly recommend, but we’re also going to be eventually offering our own free downloads, produced right here at NRP.
Some things here you can download, and others will simply take you to another page where you can read and print certain texts. We’ll also link to some things on different websites which are making things available that we find highly valuable in learning about, defending or hearing the preaching of the Gospel.
Please feel free to peruse this growing catalog and we hope you find it to be a valuable resource.
Miscellaneous
Dr. Rod Rosenbladt’s seminal work in which he addresses those who may have had their faith damaged by the church, speaking to the “sad” and “mad”, and his wonderful message of assurance is now available for free!
In this sequel to The Gospel For Those Broken By The Church, Dr. Rosenbladt clearly and concisely lays down the Gospel directly from the Scriptures and contrasts this message with what often masquerades as the Gospel. This is a must-listen for every Christian, but especially for pastors and teachers charged with teaching and preaching God’s Word, and for those actively involved in sharing their faith with others.
Dr. Rod Rosenbladt—Professor of Theology & Christian Apologetics: Christ College of Concordia University (Irvine, Cal.)—has released an amazing new work this year covering the preface and first four chapters of Martin Luther’s commentary on the book of Galatians. Faith Lutheran Church in Capistrano Beach, California has produced a twelve-part video series in which Dr. Rosenbladt also lectures from his new work covering these chapters.
In the last week of February, 2012, Dr. Rod Rosenbladt delivered an address at the
Liberate conference held at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, focused on Gerhard Førde’s writings on the Lutheran view of sanctification. This outline is the free one he has made available through that event and is now available here.
Dr. Rod Rosenbladt and Mr. Craig Parton, Esq. do some of their finest work in this series of lectures introducing Christian apologetics. Recorded on Reformation Day (Friday, Oct. 30 – Sat., Oct. 31) in Tomball, Texas, this series and the accompanying bibliography can help you understand Christian apologetics quickly and easily.
In his new presentation, Pastor Butler examines the significance of the Tabernacle and the Ark of the Covenant as a prophetic picture of the person and work of Christ. You can get the first three MP3 tracks here for free.
Concordia Seminary’s Free Video Series on the Doctrine of the Two Kingdoms
Dave Atkinson of South Orange County Outreach pointed out this gem.
This is a series of video podcasts from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, available on iTunes for free. This particular series, starting with an interview of Uwe Siemon-Netto (you may need to scroll to the bottom of the page and start from the bottom up, depending on your browser), deals with the doctrine of the Two Kingdoms, God’s two fold rule on Earth.
There are twenty nine lectures in the series, and it takes you from a very basic understanding to advanced application in the life and vocation of believers. The Two Kingdom doctrine is compared and contrasted to groups like Islam and some Christian groups that mingle the two kingdoms. This is a great resource for Pastors and teachers or for your own personal understanding. The doctrine of the two kingdoms is a much needed corrective to the misunderstandings in the church regarding its relationship to the state, and our God-given vocations.
These are quality college- or seminary-level presentations excellently produced. Other links and resources are referenced for further study.
These are great resources made available at no cost and are not to be missed.
**NOTE: The video files we’ve linked to above are fairly large (many over 30MB) and will take some time to download. We recommend only accessing these over a high-speed internet connection. We also recommend Apple’s Quicktime software for viewing the videos.
Papers mentioned by Dr. Rod Rosenbladt in his interview on Issues, Etc. in early 2009, specifically the first one by Korey Maas:
Booklets on the Charismatic Movement from the Commission on Theology and Church Relations (C.T.C.R. – an ersatz invention of the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church):
Simon Greenleaf was a law professor who taught “Evidence” at Harvard Law School for years. He was a Christian, and applied all of what he was teaching to the Gospel accounts. It was an attempt to demonstrate that the Gospels can and do qualify/pass when subjected to the most rigorous legal tests of evidence. And Greenleaf was the quintessential person qualified to do such a study.
Bible In An Hour Bonus E-books
This helpful eBook answers the following questions:
- Why is the Bible not in order?
- Why does it seem to skip here and there?
- Why are there so many weird names?
- How come people say “The Bible says?”
- Is the Bible really a User’s Manual?
- If I keep a Bible around, is it lucky for me?
- Will I ever be able to understand the Bible?
- Why have I failed so many times?
The collectors of the Bible assumed that the people who would read the Bible would understand the chronology. That’s fair, but we don’t anymore. We lost it. We lost the context over time.
Pastor Wade Butler has spent a lifetime figuring out the order of the books of the Bible. But that wasn’t enough for him. He wanted to know the exact order. So, in this e-book he puts the Bible in order for you chapter by chapter!
Many false teachers over the centuries have been able to make good earnings on the backs of sincere people who cannot get over the hurdles that impede them when it comes to understanding the Bible.
Of course, the hucksters and charlatans have nothing to gain by putting the Bible in the hands of the masses, for then they would no longer be needed to “unlock the secrets” of the Bible.
This is but one of many obstacles to reading the Bible, and once you understand them all, it will make it that much easier to comprehending the Bible in a way you never thought possible.
