The Word of God is no stranger to attack. Ever since the Garden of Eden, God's word has been under siege. The first question recorded in Scripture is when Satan asked Eve, "Did God really say...?" (Genesis 3:1). People today are still questioning God's word.

Instead of the Bible being granted the basic dignity of being considered innocent until proven guilty, it is unashamedly considered by many to be guilty until proven innocent. However, in spite of centuries of turmoil and aggression brought against it, the word of the Lord stands firm forever. As the psalmist rightly declares, "Your word, O LORD is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens." (Psalm 119:89).

Historically, the gryphon was thought to be an especially powerful and majestic creature. Gryphons are normally known as a symbol of divine power and a guardian of the divine. The swords, arrows, shield, flourishes, and distress capture the reality that a battle is constantly raging.
